In case you have not been paying attention, Brian Williams has been all the news lately. And not only because he is a news anchor for a major US TV company (NBC). That would be no news at all. Or very old news, at best.
The reason Mr. Williams is being talked about lately has to do with his reporting of the news. You see, Mr. Williams may have embellished it too much in at least one case, but more seems to be coming out. The case in question is that of his Iraq wartime story. According to the embellished version of the story, Brian Williams found himself under direct attack while being flown in a helicopter in a combat zone and received a serious fire from enemy combatants.
It turned out it really was not like that. Or not exactly like that, but from a reporter, you expect a tad more non-fiction that Mr. Williams thought was necessary.
What Mr. Williams has done is not very professional, to say the least, but the same can be said about any other professional or business person who lies in public, especially for a personal gain. Big Mike whose dubious business venture, the Big Mike Trading forum, we have discussed here on many occasions is one of such persons.
He runs a business and he lies like a stinking dog. You may have even noticed that he seems to be slightly obsessed with dogs. Well, that explains why. If there is anything his business excels at it is purveying lies, smear, or outright slander, while of course denying (lying again!) that this has ever taken place.
Let us recall some of Big Mike’s lies, at least the more obvious ones, that we have mentioned here before.
1. That he is a winning trader. No evidence of that and when one guy questioned it, he was banned from the forum in an act of outright demonstration what of happens to people like that to make sure that no other misguided Big Mike tool ever tries to do the same. Let us also remind you that Big Mike blew two of his trading accounts, the best evidence of his trading skills if there ever was one.
2. That he respects freedom of speech. Only when he finds it convenient. Otherwise, he will ban you the moment he feels threatened by what you are saying and he has plenty to be afraid of because his business is not only built on lies, but is profoundly legally questionable. Not only is it not true that he respects freedom of speech, but he even used this lie to solicit money for his legal support fund, which amounts to an outright fraud. We talked about it at length on this blog.
3. That he treats vendors fairly. Total baloney, as you can easily see from two facts: he banned Mr. Felton (as reported here) for merely disagreeing with Big Mike’s dubious trading ideas (totally in private, not even on the forum) and he has let Dirty Harry (Harald Steinhaus aka Fat Tails) denigrate his (and Big Mike’s competitors) in a way that we have yet to witness on any other trading forum. He also allowed Harald Steinhaus to hide the fact that he was a vendor while engaging in this and other legally questionable practices (see the last link). However, if you are vendor who questions that on the Big Mike Trading forum or who simply fails to please Big Bozo, expect to be banned, and you may even be accused of wrongdoing that you did not commit in order to justify this. See this post for more.
While Brian Williams’ embellishments have gotten him in trouble, no one, except for us and a few guys on the EliteTrader.com forum seems to be questioning Big Mike’s pathological lying.
Not only that, but many trading vendors and other dubious trading professionals trek to his forum to give webinars.
Don’t these people feel ashamed to be in bed with a blatant sociopath? Don’t they understand the concept of integrity?
Quite apparently not. And the sad news, if there is any here, is that it is not news at all, but business as usual in the trading marketplace.
The Big Mike Trading Forum mentioned or discussed here is now futuresio or futures.io. But it is still the same sham as before for the reasons mentioned here and in other posts on this blog. Read more about it in the first article dedicated specifically to Michael Boulter’s latest fraudulent reinvention.
